Healing Breaths
Workshops in Performance Arts
Unlimited words, music, performance, and imagination
At the Richmond City Limits

In this workshop ministry of the Church of the Holy Comforter, you are invited to sing, act, listen, direct, play your instrument, share your insights, recite, and present or curate your own works with others.

The first series of workshops will be led by Richard Rose. It is open to teens through elders. As a subsidized ministry, all workshop materials will be free to participants, but only 20 spaces are available. The series may be repeated. Participants will use centering practices and performance arts to deepen their spiritual experience. The first series of four sessions, called Probing the Depths, will explore original musical works by Rose. Then participants will decide the future direction of the series, possibly forming a performance company. Both performers and non-performers are welcome because shaping words and music together as both performers and listeners is an active engagement in seeking fullness and meaning in our lives. This is a ministry to our imaginations. Mark Twain once said, You can’t depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus.
